Hospitality at Flyin H Ranch: Creating a Home Away from Home.

Farming and ranching are not the lucrative industries many believe them to be. Between government subsidies, high taxes, and a volatile commodities market, making a living solely off agriculture is nearly impossible. Add in the unpredictable nature of the business—droughts, loss of livestock, and seasonal fluctuations—and you quickly realize that having multiple revenue streams is not just helpful, but necessary. And let's be real, these kids aren’t cheap!
That’s where our vacation cabin rentals come in. At Flyin H Ranch, we’ve worked hard to create a space that not only provides additional income but also extends the same hospitality and warmth that we strive to maintain in our home and our ranch.
Having grown up as a military brat, with both my parents serving in the armed forces, I know firsthand what it feels like to be a weary traveler. Checking into a hotel, hostel, or bed and breakfast after a long day of travel, all you want is to crawl into a clean, comfortable bed and feel at peace. I can’t tell you how incredible it is when that happens.
When we opened our cabins as an Airbnb, that feeling was at the forefront of our minds. We wanted to make sure that, even if we never met our guests face-to-face, they felt welcomed. It’s the small things that make a difference—bottles of water placed on the beds, chocolates and mints on the nightstands, bottles of wine waiting on the table. But my personal favorite? A prayer card.
To Our Guest:
A Prayer For The Stranger Within Our Gates We pray that God will grant you peace and rest while you are under our roof. May this be your “second” home. May those you love be near you in thoughts and dreams. May you be comfortable and happy in our home; and when you leave, may the guardian angel share your journey home. We are all travelers. From birth until death, we travel until we reach our destination in eternity. May these days be pleasant for you, profitable for society, helpful for those you meet, and a joy to those who know and love you best. May the blessings that come from Jesus Christ abide in your heart always.

No matter who you are, at some point in life, you will find yourself hosting—whether it’s family, friends, or even strangers. Hospitality is more than providing a space; it’s about creating an experience of warmth, safety, and welcome. In a world that’s fast-paced and often impersonal, let me encourage you to find ways to make your home and your life more inviting. A kind gesture, a thoughtful detail, or a simple heartfelt welcome can mean more than you’ll ever know.
